Where weight loss diets go wrong
When
you gain a few pounds the first thing going through your mind is
to eat less. It makes sense. Food is the reason why you are a
little bit overweight therefore less food will correct the
situation. Almost all diets say: eat less food. There is he
magic answer!
If you thought eating less is the solution I have news for
you! Bad news : it doesn't work like that! The human body was
trained over its evolutionary cycle to resist lack of food. Less
food will not make a big difference. At least not the difference
you are looking for. Your body has ways to compensate less food
by lowering the amount of energy produced.
So now the question is how to get the results you want if
eating less doesn't work. The answer is quite simple :
don't eat less but eat smart! Often you see overweight
and slim people eating the same amount of food. Where is the
difference ? The difference is in the type of food each has.
Overweight people prefer fat foods as where slim people have
more carbs, easily metabolized by the body. That being said it
seems a good idea fo an overweight individual to consider
changing his/her eating patterns.
Efficient dieting takes time. You won't be
able to get rid of the extra pounds in a day or a week.
Everybody looks for a wonder pill, something o help them lose
weigh instantly. And sure enough many products promise to
deliver just that. Weight loss is a process. It is not magic. It
takes time and patience.
The way to lose weight is to have less or avoid if possible
fat reach foods and also to exercise. If you diet and don't
exercise then you are losing your time. Sedentary is an
invitation to being overweight. Exercising is critical because
the modern life style has overweight written all over it :
driving everywhere, seating at the office all day long, seating
on the couch watching TV.
